In the Archaeological Park of Trinitapoli there are two hypogei: The Bronze hypogeum and the Ivory hypogeum. The Hypogei are important structures carved from the limestone rock bed to celebrate suggestive propitious rituals, probably relating to hunting and harvesting that were later on used as collective cemeteries.
Indeed, in Trinitapoli, in  each of the hypogeum were found about 200 burials counting the adults and children of both sexes, buried in a fetal position together with a rich quantity of funeral objects. The hypogeum architecture are reminiscent of the Mycenaean structures built in Greece in the same period, and  is based on precise and complex norms that replicate themselves constantly save for differences that have to do only with the size and shape of the design.
Access to the tomb is through a "dromos", a narrow and steep open-air corridor that is proportional as far as length to the size of the principal chamber, then follows an underground corridor called stomion, and ending in a very particular apical small cupola.
The principal chamber has in the center of the vault a circular aperture for aeration and exhaust of smoke.
The burial of a high-ranking female called “Signora delle Ambre ” (Lady of the Amber) is truly impressive, and her funeral apparel clearly reveals her position. And just as stunning the recent discovery of the “Gigante di Trinitapoli” (Giant of Trinitapoli), the remains of a man of about thirty years of age who lived about thirty thousand years ago and measured 1.85 m: a real giant for those times.
